Job Details:

Job Summary: Directs and coordinates operations to ensure effective connection between the LVC Training business unit and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) on business unit product quality, on time, cost effective delivery of products to customers. Oversees the support and application of ISC resources for business unit manufacturing, inventory control, manufacturing engineering/planning, security and facility maintenance. Recommends and implements ISC policies and programs to guide the Company in maintaining and improving the competitive position and profitability of the operations. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, directs and coordinates all manufacturing activities for the Training business unit in conjunction with ISC.

  • Ensures production and manufacturing methods and measures to ensure high quality and low cost processes are used in support of the training business unit growth plans and ISC policy.

  • Performs administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department.

  • Ensures inventory controls, inventory levels and flow of materials (including shipment of finished goods) are consistent with budgets and forecasts for manufacturing and customer service requirements.

  • Reviews and evaluates cost effectiveness, consistency, quality, accuracy and performance to standards and takes actions necessary to correct discrepancies.

  • Assures compliance of operations with Company policy, and federal, state and local regulations.

  • Directs installation and maintenance of all equipment used in manufacturing.

  • Directs the preparation of specifications as to quality, quantity, delivery and service required for purchase of plant equipment, supplies and materials to meet production schedules and quality standards.

  • Coordinates and collaborates with other Company departments to achieve given responsibilities.

  • Ensures compliance with all contract security requirements.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable law. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; motivating, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Four-year college degree, or equivalent, in a technical field (preferably industrial engineering), business administration or related field, plus a minimum of fifteen years management experience in a manufacturing environment. Excellent analytical and communication skills. Familiarity with personal computer software. Ability to perform responsibilities under deadlines and budgets. Ability to set priorities and handle multiple assignments.
