Job Description

Position Summary:

Goshen College offers undergraduate majors in accounting, business, marketing, information technology, sustainability management, and minors in all five of those areas plus entrepreneurship and global economics. An asynchronous, online undergraduate program in Business Management was launched in August 2023. An MBA program, that includes a 4+1 pathway for undergraduate students, is offered through a collaborative arrangement with Eastern Mennonite University and Canadian Mennonite University through synchronous videoconferencing using Zoom.

Continuing growth in student enrollment in the business programs and recent changes in our program curriculum allows us to add capacity and expertise to our team. The primary focus of business department faculty is teaching and advising undergraduate students, connecting students to internship and career opportunities, and nurturing relationships with the local business community.

Our goal is to add a part-time or full-time faculty member who is excited about teaching young adults, but also willing to teach adult students in undergraduate and graduate programs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design and teach undergraduate and graduate courses that are in-person, online, and/or on Zoom, with a primary focus on in-person teaching to traditional-age, undergraduate students
  • Teach 6-8 different courses per academic year
  • Revise curriculum to reflect changes in the business world
  • Serve as an academic and career advisor for 45-60 business students
  • Participate in student recruitment activities and events
  • Create opportunities that connect students with employers
  • Identify new opportunities for department programs and student learning
  • Develop and build relationships with the local and regional business communities
  • Engage with professional and business organizations

Position Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in business (MBA, Management, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or Information Technology)
  • Recent manager-level role in a business organization

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • Seeks professional development opportunities that are responsive to changes in business
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks/responsibilities and meet deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in data-driven decision-making with a focus in any of these functional areas of business (marketing research, business analytics, all levels of Microsoft Excel, digital marketing, finance)
  • Experience in teaching and/or training in a variety of business or educational settings
  • Fluency in a language other than English
