StaffPosition Summary:
The Accountant performs a variety of routine accounting support and customer service functions in accordance with standard procedures. Key responsibilities include providing customer service, preparing standard reports, assisting with accounting inquiries, performing data entry of accounting documents, and filing. This position plays a critical role in construction accounting, including reconciling and recording Construction in Progress (CIP) on financial statements, managing fixed assets related to construction projects, reconciling construction projects with both Rowan and Cabarrus County governments, and preparing cash flow statements for the system office. This position reports directly to the Associate Chief Financial Officer.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and two (2) years of accounting experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
- 2 years of accounting experience.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: Basic accounting principles and practices; Data entry techniques; Basic mathematical concepts; Recordkeeping principles; Computers and related software applications.
Skill In: Performing basic mathematical calculations; Using a computer and applicable software applications; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
